Thinking and talking about everything!

Movies, movies, movies! November 13, 2008

When I watch a movie…

I look out for the plot, the actors, the acting, and the way its directed.

When a movie is…

good, I will feel really really happy and will be in a good mood for the rest of the day. If the movie is bad, I will feel really angry and I will feel like asking for my money back!

In a movie, I want…

to be entertained by a good mix of humour, action, and romance. I also expect the movie to be edited, well and the movie must not have any loop-holes. The last thing I want in a movie is a good ending that is not too abrupt.

I Like…

action movies, comedies, and animated movies.

Books! November 11, 2008

I feel that many people choose computer games over books, and spent their free time in front of the computer screen instead of looking through the pages of books.

Although I like reading in my spare time I …

also occasionally blog and play stuff like Icy Tower and talk on MSN.

To me reading is…

a pastime, something to do on the bus when I’m making long trips when other people are playing with their PSPs, and something to help me relax just before I sleep.

My book recommedations…

I have read an uncountable amount of books. If I like a book, I’ll read it at super sonic speed, and if I really don’t like it, I will give up reading it all together!

The books recommended below are the ones that i read at super sonic speed!!

My recommendations for series(for all ages)

1. The Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi & Holly Black

2. An Eco Mystery series by Jean Craighead George

3. Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz

My recommendations for series(for ages 12+)…

1. The Cherub series by Robert Muchamore

2. The Song of The Lioness Quartet by Tamora Pierce

3. The Immortals quartet by Tamora Pierce

4. The Protector of The Small Quartet by Tamora Pierce

My recommendations for individual books(for all ages)…

2. The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo

3. The Animals of Farthing Wood(novel) by Colin Dann

4. King of The Wind by Marguerite Henry

5. Cages by Peg Kehret

My recommendations for individual books(for ages 12+)

1. The Goblin Wood by Hilari Bell

2. Shakespeare’s Secret by Elise Broach

4. I Am The Messenger by Marcus Zasak

Okay! These are all my recommendations! I really hope you people who always ‘glue’ your eyes to your screen could read this and hopefully ‘peel’ your eyes off your computer screens and check out the books that I’ve recommended and read them, and… READ THEM!

To all those who already love to read, you people must keep reading! Go book lovers!

Protecting Our Planet! May 22, 2008

Filed under: Going Green! — kim @ 2:42 pm

If you think that Earth is a planet of unlimited resources, you are really very, very wrong! We will one day run out of fossil fuel, trees, and maybe even fresh water.

Trees are disappearing FAST due to natural disasters and also man made reasons. We are clearing forests and jungles at an alarming rate for farming reasons and without realizing it, we are shortening not  only the Earth’s life but ours and the plants and animals’ lives too!

Everyday we drive from home to work and back and to many other places. We leave a very dangerous amount of pollution as we drive wherever we drive. Few are aware that this is one reason for global warming, and many who are aware choose to ignore it. But those who are aware and choose to do something about it sell their ‘air polluters’ and buy hybrid cars.

Brands like Toyota and Honda have produced hybrid models. The cars run on both electric and petrol engines. To find out more about hybrid cars, click here or here.

The Motto

The “save the planet” motto, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle!

1. Every 10 seconds you leave your tap or shower on, you are using 1 litre of water. Which is… you are using 6 litres of water in just 1 minute.

2. Using a fan saves you energy if you usually use the air con.

3. One reusable shopping bag can fit as much as 5 plastic bags worth of stuff!

Now… a few ways of saving our planet!

1. Always use scrap paper or used paper to take down unimportant things.

2. Once you are done reusing the used paper, recycle it!!

3. Recycle paper, glass, and plastic as much as you can.

4. Use reusable cloth shopping bags for shopping.

5. Turn off any lights or fans or computers that you are not using.

Remember that our planet is not a place of unlimited resources. So please help us and yourselves save our planet from burning to its core. Thank You!
